Of course the latest proposal is just another example of Illinois being a deadbeat state more concerned with handing out cozy deals to their political cronies and ripping off the taxpayer than fulfilling legal obligations. The largest tax increase in state history was not only supposed to put the state on solid footing, but be temporary in nature. Yet, every action to date, by our Democratic controlled legislature, debunks that. Be prepared to accept the fact that the tax increase is permanent. Sadly, they knew it would be.
Taxpayers will continue to get whacked due to the malfeasance of its lawmakers. I will also go as far as to say that our elected officials have perpetrated a premeditated fraud upon the taxpayer. They knew from the get go that they were not going to do any of the things they promised. And if we were to put that into proper context they would be tried and jailed for those actions. After all, if you were doing the things that they do - you would be in jail.
Exactly how the Illinois Legislature gets away with it is beyond me. With all the watchdogs who supposedly keep tabs on our elected officials, one must wonder why they haven't acted on behalf of the Illinois Taxpayer? Don't people like Andy Shaw realize that the State of Illinois and/or its elected officials can be sued in the Illinois Court of Claims? It isn't as if they are immune from prosecution by any stretch.
Watchdogs and legal experts refuse to engage the corruption in any meaningful way. Why is that? Could it be the entire system is rigged against the common man? Are they all in cahoots with each other? If you ask me, something definitely is amiss! Regular people are convicted every single day of the year for lesser charges and lesser evidence. Then again, when you have a judiciary that is just as politically corrupt as its worst politicians, you can see why no one wants to touch it. Nothing like pleading a case in front of a politically connected judge, right? Still, so many ambitious people and not a single one with a backbone? I guess it is what it is. We have been lied to and cheated out of our money, and still they don't miss a beat as it continues unabated.
It is really hard to imagine that there was a time when people in our earlier history actually stood up to those charlatans masquerading as men of the people. Has the will of the people finally been silenced? It is hard to believe, but it seems to be the case. But I tell you, as cruel as it was to tar and feather those early charlatans - it sounds like a just punishment today. Our politicians are more tyrannical than some of the worst in history.
I will tell you something else too. This is exactly why people, like former Mayor Richard M. Daley, tirelessly wants to persecute legal gun owners. It was never about crime prevention because he knows damn well that criminals will always have access to illegal guns. No, he and people like him, are afraid that there could be a day when real Americans will again rise up against those who abuse their power. Today's leadership is the greatest deterrent to democracy and if you think I am kidding, just take a look around at the rampant corruption that grips not only Illinois, but other state's like her. Career politicians have somehow confused our Republic with some sort of a Constitutional Monarchy and where they are considered lesser royalty. And even though they might think that way, they are nothing more than the royal pains in the asses that they are.
I have said it before and I'll say it again, people really better wake up!
There is a hell of a lot more at stake than education funding!
