Last night on So You Think You Can Dance four dancers fell from the top 20. The week before softy judge Nigel just couldn't bare to let anyone go home (isn't this the point of the show), and so now four sad faces walked away from their dream last night. Sad! Let's recap who went home last night...Iveta: Well, we knew this was coming. It took her how many years to get on the show? I applaud her persistence, but her phenomenal ballroom skills don't easily transition into other genres.
Missy: This is a mistake. This pixie of a girl has a style that is sexy and edgy and her technique is right up there with the girls sticking around. She made it into the bottom six last night because of her partner Wadi's downfalls in their hot cha cha set to Kesha's Cannibal. This girl is a rockstar! Shame on you judges!
Wadi: Sorry Wadi! Like I said, his downfalls in the cha cha didn't let him shine this week. Guess this is what happens to b-boys on this show...
Nick: Awww the tap dancer! What a cutie, this All-American boy didn't make the cut when he tapped through his last solo. Just like Iveta's ballroom skills, tap doesn't easily cut across different types of dance.
Congrats to the top 16! Standouts this week included Miranda and Robert's hip hop routine to Break Ya Neck, the best hip hop showcase on the show so far (Youtube it, you won't be sorry). Jordan and Tadd danced a beautiful Viennese waltz, and Sasha and Alexander danced a heart-wrenching duet to Coming Home by Diddy-Dirty Money. Loved it!
Till next week... 24 Jun, 2011
