It was brought to our attention this morning that there are quite a few alleged issues with the sites NoMoreRack.com and BidRack.com. We have written about NoMoreRack.com in the past, which is a combination sample sale and daily deal site. Each day a few sales go live at noon, and they sell out super quickly. I'd like to state that my personal experience with NoMoreRack.com has been nothing but positive.
Shortly after NoMoreRack.com launched, they launched a sister site, BidRack.com. I have not mentioned BidRack.com at all because it is my personal opinion that online penny auction sites - all of them as a whole - are a borderline scam. When you spend money on penny auction sites, all you are purchasing is the right to bid on items. The more you bid, the longer the auction runs, so basically the person with the most number of bids available to them will be the ultimate winner. I believe this is wrong and that if you are going to spend your hard-earned money that you should walk away with an item... not the chance to possibly win something.
So, while I have previously supported NoMoreRack.com and the service and products I have received from them, I in no way endorse penny auction sites like BidRack.com.
This morning I received the following email and Facebook message:
I, along with apparently many others, have been duped by Nomorerack a Vancouver, BC company with a website called Bidrack.com. You've previously given them a good writeup (on their website), have them listed as a good item right now and thought I should let you know. If you google them and "99" you'll be presented with a bunch of folks like me who, while signing up for their "free" registration were unknowlingly charged $99 against their CC#. Thought you'd like to hear about this and have the opportunity to set the record straight. Thanks.
If any of you were charged $99 when registering for BidRack.com, you should IMMEDIATELY contact the Better Business Bureau. Here is the mailing address for NoMoreRack/BidRack that you will need to use: Nomorerack Retail Group, 154 1917 W4 Ave., Vancouver, BC V6J1M7
There is a Facebook page dedicated to fighting NoMoreRack/BidRack, and if you have been mislead by either of these companies, I urge you to check it out here. While it is apparently NoMoreRack/BidRack's policy not to return the $99, it appears that those who have fought hard have received a refund. Fight the good fight!
I am truly sorry if anyone was duped by either of these companies, and as we only write about companies and brands that we 100% support, we will henceforth refrain from writing about NoMoreRack.
Also, I have been informed that NoMoreRack.com has an endorsement from me on their website. I have asked that they remove this immediately, as I have never given them permission for this to appear.
*If you encounter scams or unethical policies with companies that we write about, please continue to let us know.*
