Ask people in the real estate business which neighborhoods are most popular with Chicago renters and you'll get a wide variety of answers, many of them self-serving.

Fortunately, there's an objective way to gauge popularity - Google's "database of intentions," i.e., what people are actually searching for and visiting on the Internet.

According to Google Analytics, YoChicago's most popular at-a-glance apartment lists and maps are, in order: Downtown, Near North, Lincoln Park, Lakeview, east of Halsted, and Lakeview, west of Halsted.

According to stats reported at Google Maps, the Near North area edged out Downtown in the number of views of YoChicago's apartment maps, with the other three areas ranking the same in popularity. .
