Here's a new, unexpected entry in the Lindsay Lohan book of excuses.

The alleged actress, who was reamed out by a judge yesterday for not taking the terms of her probation seriously enough, offered this explanation for why she has yet to participate in court-ordered psychological treatment:

She can't afford it!

The actress' attorney, Shawn Chapman Holley, said Lohan hasn't been able to maintain her psychological treatment because of "financial issues."

The judge was unmoved.

"If she doesn't have the means [to pay for it], she's got to find someone to help her out," Judge Stephanie Sautner said at the hearing.

Guess all those legal bills add up. Not to mention the fact that it's hard to secure a movie role when you spend half your life in court.

Complicating matters, Lindsay says she can't attend more affordable group counseling because paparazzi issues will disrupt the sessions.

Regardless, the judge gave her 21 days to get started with the counseling or face the consequences, meaning a revocation of probation.

She also warned that Lohan must complete all her community service hours by year's end. As of now, she's done just four of 60 days.

Lohan served just 35 days of home confinement at her Venice, Calif., townhome for pleading no contest to misdemeanor necklace theft.
